African lemon herb --Satureja biflora
African lemon grass has an excellent lemon-like taste and aroma. The plant has small leaves and tiny white flowers like thyme. For denser growth, young shoots should be regularly harvested. Lovers of lemon-scented plants enjoy using this versatile herb as a spice and refined addition to salads, desserts, cocktails, and oriental dishes. Tea made from the leaves reduces bloating, coughs, and eases expectoration.
It is a perennial plant that loves plenty of sun and sandy, well-draining soil. In winter, it should be kept indoors at 10°C and watered moderately.
