'TOSCANA' strawberry - FRAGARIA ANANASSA
From late May until frost, the Toscana strawberry produces sweet fruits. With its dark pink flowers, it is so attractive that it can even be considered an ornamental plant. Although the strawberry belongs to the rose family, it is the fruit of a nutlet. Chilled or on cakes, strawberries are the most popular fruit in summer. It has been proven that the delicious 'Toscana' strawberry fruits, with their sweet aroma, provide a particularly high vitamin C content. The 'Toscana' strawberry is also called the 'snack strawberry' because it produces new fruits throughout the summer. It is grown in small gardens, terraces, and balconies. In terracotta pots and hanging jars, the strawberry thrives well. Growing in jars has the advantage that the fruits hang down and thus always dry well and do not rot. The 'Toscana' strawberry is hardy, perennial, and prefers a sunny to partially shaded spot.
